We are planning the “Ultimate Volksvegan Adventure” for summer 2007. Seneca, Megan, and Juneau will sell or store all they own, hop in the grease-powered bus, and travel with no particular destination in mind!

We have been wanting to explore and find a place to settle that truly fits us for a while… and we decided that there’s no better way to do it than take a summer off to visit the places we’re considering. Of course, there will be lots of exploration of the outdoors along the way, and we’ll be promoting bio-fuels as well!

The category “ultimate adventure 07” will be added to all posts about our trip, and this blog will serve as a journal of the journey. We’re planning on being on the road for a few months and mostly staying in the Pacific Northwest, but we’d like to explore Canada (mostly Banff National Park) and northern California as well… we’ll see where the bus takes us!

Planned Departure Date: Monday, June 18th
Itinerary: Unknown (well, partially known)

  • June 18th - 22nd: Boise (dropping off stuff for storage)
  • June 22nd - 26th(ish): Portland (my cousin Joan’s wedding)
  • June 30th??: Boise (my friend Jen Jen’s wedding reception) - possibly
  • ?: Montana - Glacier National Park and Bozeman to visit friends
  • ?: Oregon, California, Washington - exploring several communes and intentional communities we are interested in moving to
  • ?: Backpacking, camping, hiking, exploring…

It’s hard for me not to plan every detail of a trip, but I think the open-ended nature of the trip will be good for us. We’ll go wherever we feel called to and stay as long as we want… we gotta do this crazy stuff while we’re young!

Stay tuned for updates on our trip!
